Sami Stamps Challenge #011 Winners!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

The sun is up and we have been having fun with bubbles around here today!

I would like to start of this post with a little DT inspiration.
Bettina Leikvoll has created some lovely projects that I would love to share!

Bettina created a corner bookmark using Sami Stamps image "Chicks For Me" from our most recent release: "Easter Fun." If you haven't finished your Easter projects yet come by the shop and grab a few before Easter passes you by!

This card was created with Sami Stamps Image "I Love The Rain" for Tip Top Tuesday. Sami Stamps is sponsoring their current challenge so if you would like to have the chance to win more Sami Stamps images check them out!

...just adorable.

Announcing Sami Stamps Challenge #010 Winners and Other Prizes!

Woah! Is it March already!? I'm right smack dab in the middle of potty training and has resulted in something very similar to "pregnancy brain." Busy following a squirmy little boy with disinfectant spray, rushing him off to the bathroom, holding aside his cape while he does his business, and now I'm late to announce February's Challenge Winners!

The winners of Sami Stamps Challenge #010: Add A Touch Of Glitter are:

First place:
What a beautiful card all around! Carla used Sami Stamps image "Winter Cocoa" and the coloring of the image is exquisite! The glitter is perfect, the overall color scheme flows very well, the layout is beautiful, and I just love the splashes of white and gold framing the image.

Second Place:
Carol also used Sami Stamps "Winter Cocoa." Simple and clean and beautiful! The soft overall feeling of this card blends well with the soft hues Carol colored the image with. The image is colored so very well!

I just love all the entries so much (And because we have had no little boy accidents today-I am in a particularly good mood) I have decided to add a third place!
Third Place goes to:
Monica chose to use Sami Stamps Image "On Your Arm." I just love the dress! It was a nice touch to add some glitter to the flowers in the background to balance out the glitter dress. Plus daisies are the way to my heart! Wonderful card Monica!

AND
As I am sure you have all been on the edge of your seats in suspense, just waiting for the challenge winners... I have decided to make it up to you. All the rest of the wonderful entries of Sami Stamps Challenge #010 will receive $1.00 off their next Sami Stamps purchase!

Carla Suto, Carol Dee, and Monica please e-mail me at sami@adayfordaisies.com claim your gift certificates.

Cass, Edwina Brown, Suze, AJ, Mel C, Danielle Vincent, and Dawn- With your next Sami Stamps Order, along with your list of images you would like to purchase, just remind me you were a Sami Stamps Challenge #10 entry and I will make sure you receive you $1.00 off!

New Release: Mushroom Fairies and Guest DT Marina!

I have recently been requested to make some woodland fairies and mushrooms.
So here it is, our Newest Release:

Joining us today as a Guest Designer is our winner from Sami Stamps Challenge 009:
I’m Marina from the UK. I work full-time in education and I have a family, but in my free-time, I make things. What I enjoy most is having an idea and trying to make it work.
(Sometimes it works better than others!)
I’m on two design teams, Inkspirational and Pinspirational Challenges. At the moment, as well as making lots of cards, I am scrapbooking and trying to sew a present for a friend’s new baby. I have also set myself the challenge of making a Christmas card a week, and posting it on my blog.
Thank you Sami for having me as Guest Designer.
Marina Crafted a beautiful faux wood tag out of chipboard using "Mushroom Fairy." It turned out just so lovely I wanted to include her tutorial so you can make one of your own!
 Materials:
Sami Stamps digi Mushroom Fairy
Chipboard rectangle  (mine had a white coating on one side and bevelled edges)
Markers,  Ultra fine glitter ,Two shades of beige/brown ink pad
Clear ink pad (Versamark)  and clear embossing powder
Heat gun and hole punch
Woodgrain rubber stamp
Twine, charm, gem

1.) Color the fairy and cut it out closely.
2.) Color the chipboard using the paler ink and stamp the woodgrain with the darker ink.

3.) Glue the fairy image onto the tag and punched a hole.  I put glue on the fairy’s wings and sprinkled them with ultra-fine glittter.
4.) Dabble the whole tag with clear ink , sprinkle it with clear embossing powder and heat it to melt. This was repeated 3 or four times till the surface was glassy smooth. The dabbing of clear ink caused particles of glitter to be transferred across the tag, which (although not originally intended!) gives the whole tag a fairy sparkle.
5.) I finished it off with some twine, a dragonfly charm and a gem

My Design Team would love to share their examples with you this week. Such fun as always! =) A Big, BIG thank you goes to these wonderful ladies for always sharing their talent with us!

Please remember that I always love to take requests! E-mail me at sami@adayfordaisies.com and your idea just may show up as a New Release! Or even better-request your very own Custom Stamp! Click HERE for examples.
