Hello all,

My name is Marieke and i'm 32 years old and live in the Netherlands with my boyfriend and cat. 

I started making cards 4 years ago. 

Well i actually started earlier but i did not make anything because i was in the navy for 8 years. 

I started making cards using pencils but i did not get the result i wanted so i looked into Copic Markers, well i can tell you since then i'm hooked! 

 

In the house we live in, i have a craft room it's all the way up so i can look over the neighbourhood and i love it, i can close the door when it is a mess, the only problem really is that it is getting fuller and fuller, hahaha (who does not have that problem?). 

 

Once a week i craft together with a friend, one week at my place and one week at hers. I love making all kinds of cards, CAS, Vintage, Fluffy, Girly you name it i make it! I

2017 DT Highlights and Temporary Shop Closure

Ready or not, welcome to 2018! 

At the end of every year I really do love looking back at all that had happened over the past year. So for this Friday's post I wanted to highlight all my favorite Design Team creations from 2017! I believe there is a time and season for everything. And with the changes life has brought along with my sweet baby girl I have come to the decision to temporarily close down the Sami Stamps blog and Etsy shop. I am sad to take a step back but I know it is a right decision to simplify 2018.

Fun Friday with Bonnie and Chilly Bunny!

I hope you have had a great holiday season! 

Maybe some you will have some extra time to craft during your holidays!

Today i would like to share this simple card with you using Chilly Bunny

As you can see i added some stripes to this scarf.  You can pencil off some lines and add your coloring. I like to cut out my images and this image comes with some snowflakes in the background.  i just cut them out as circles or you can hand punch them.

Frosty Fun Friday!

Hello!  Rae Ann here with your dose of Friday Fun inspiration!  Can you believe it is the Friday before Christmas?!  I hope you have your shopping and wrapping done and can put your feet up and enjoy a glass of egg nog (or whatever drink brings you the most joy).  And with Christmas right around the corner, you know what that means!  Soon it will be New Year's Day and we will suffer through several weeks of writing the wrong year on everything. =P  Before that happens, Frosty Stars and I are here to wish you a Happy New Year.

I colored Frosty Stars with Copic markers and used a technique I recently learned to make his hat band, buttons and stars look like gold glitter or sequins.  A little embossing for some texture, some ribbon and trim (the black trim below the ribbon doesn't really show at all in the picture), and a simple stamped sentiment and this card was done!

This month's challenge is white on white!  Why not put a project together and play along?  Just remember to use a Sami Stamps image to be eligible for prizes.

Fun Friday with Bonnie - 3D Paper Piece Card!

No time for coloring an image?  What about paper piecing?  

Want to make your card "the gift"??

The images on this card work well for paper piecing. 

In fact, i looked at the shop examples and the blog to see that other crafters have thought the same thing about this image called, Curious Gifts!

I like to use digital paper so that i can change the scale of the paper.

In some cases, i like to digitally paper piece too, because it cuts down on paper waste. 

Here is my paper pieced version of Curious Gifts!  The kitties were colored with Copics.

You can make your card a "gift that can be framed" by making it 3D.

To create a 3D image...

All you do is print the image off 3-4 times and layer it with foam tape!

New Image: Little Holly Unicorn and Sami Stamps Challenge #56

Hi everyone! It is good to be back! I want to give a big thank you for our DT leader Grandma Bonnie and the rest of the design team for stepping it up and helping me out while I was away. I had a little special someone to welcome into my family and have been a little busy. =) I would like to ask everyone to please have patience with me over the next few months while I am trying to figure out how to balance my normal life along with my sweet baby girl.

Fun Friday with Emily!!!

Hey hey!!
Welcome back to another Fun Friday here at Sami Stamps!!
I have an adorable little shaker card for you today!

For my card I've used the Feather Nap image.  I love this sweet little kitty!  Of course she had to be colored up like my little Cloud baby with a big fluffly tail!

I used a sun ray stencil and added some Fossilized Amber through the stencil, then spritzed it lightly with some shimmer mist so it has a nice sparkle.  It was only after I had completed the card that I realized I did the rays in the wrong order...but oh well :)  I still like how it all turned out!

Once the rays were dry, I cut an oval from the center to be the window for my shaker card.  I cut some green cardstock to be my hill and adhered everything down, adding a fun golden sequin mix to the shaker.

I black heat embossed my sentiment on to a strip of vellum and wrapped it around my card and that was it!!

Where do you craft/make your cards/projects?

I craft at home in the evenings while watching the TV.

Who do you create/design cards for?

I design mostly for family and friends, but I do have regular customers that order from me.

Do you use metal dies or svgs?

I love using metal dies.

What do you enjoy most about cardmaking?

I find the colouring side of my cards helps me relax, but most of all, I love seeing the finished card and knowing that I have made it.

Where do you buy most of your cardmaking supplies?

I tend to buy my craft supplies in bunk at craft shows throughout the year.
